Burton Constable - A Pictorial History (4th March 2026)
Burton Constable has been documented in photographs for over a century, with postcards of the house and surrounding estate being produced since 1903. This talk will showcase 75 different postcards, illustrating the estate’s development up to the present day, with messages on the back offering fascinating insights into social history. Local photographer Charles Pinchbeck captured many of the scenes, and some of the postcards feature personal comments that shed light on life in the past.
